The PADI Scuba Diver course is linked to the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you don't have a lot of time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver level might be for you, especially if you plan to dive primarily with a dive guide.
With adequate supervision, it is possible to rent or purchase equipment and participate in diving activities. This course is an intermediate step if your ultimate goal is to become a certified Open Water Diver.
